We want to ensure that you always have full knowledge of which data is stored, when it is stored and for what purpose. In the following we illustrate the data processing that takes place when using this website. Additionally, every input form available on this website also contains a specific privacy notice. You will find notes on your data protection rights at the end of each website under “Data Protection Rights”.

    Responsible Office and Contact Data

The AOK responsible for the data processing carried out in connection with the use of this website is stated in the section “Datenschutzrechte” (Data Protection Rights, in German language). You can find this section here or at the end of this website. There, you will also find our contact data as well as the contact data of the official data protection officer.

    Accessing and Using the Website

A hosting service provider located in Germany collects data on each access to the server where this service is hosted (so-called server log files) on behalf of AOK This access data comprises:

    • Name of the accessed website
    • File
    • Date and time of the access
    • Transmitted data volume
    • Notification on successful access
    • Browser type and version as well as the operating system of the user
    • Referring URL (the previously visited page)
    • IP address and the requesting provider

Due to technical reasons (ensuring the functionality and stability of the website) and security reasons (e.g. the clarification of abusive acts or fraud), the log file information will be stored for a maximum period of seven days and then deleted. Additionally, the IP addresses will be stored for four weeks in the course of the backup and then deleted. Data that needs to be stored beyond that period due to evidentiary purposes is exempt from deletion until the respective incident has been resolved.

We have concluded a data processing agreement with our hosting service provider. With this agreement, the service provider assures to process the data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation, and to safeguard the protection of the rights of the persons concerned.

The legal basis for the processing is art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The processing of required data for the aforementioned purposes is to be considered as legitimate interest for the purposes of this provision. The necessary all-encompassing balancing of interests concludes that the prevailing interest of the users in an exclusion of this data processing is not to be expected.

    Storage of IP Addresses

On behalf of AOK, a hosting service provider collects data on each access to the server where this service is hosted (so-called server log files) to safeguard the legitimate interests according to art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. This access data comprises the name of the accessed website, file, date and time of the access, transmitted data volume, notification on successful access, browser type and version as well as the operating system of the user, the referring URL (the previously visited page), IP address and the requesting provider. A transmission of the full IP address does not take place. AOK itself does not record any IP addresses and has no access to these at any time. Neither does an evaluation of the data for marketing purposes take place in this context.

Temporary Use of the Anonymised IP Address for Locating Purposes

For her online offers, AOK uses the technology of geo targeting. In the process, your IP address will be shortened in a manner that an inference of your IP address is no longer possible. After your IP address has been anonymised through shortening, it is used to determine the region where you are located. This allows us to provide you with specific contents that may be interesting for you based on your location. The anonymised IP address will not be stored permanently but is used solely for this purpose. The legal basis for this processing is your consent according to art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR. A regionalisation will not take place without your previous consent.

You have the possibility to share chosen articles on this website via the social networks Facebook and Twitter. The related data transfer to the operator of the corresponding social network only takes place upon your prior explicit consent. For this purpose, we have implemented the so-called 2-click solution to make sure that data transfer to the social networks only takes place if you have agreed to it as per art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR. Only then will the contents shared by you and further technical information be transmitted to the operator of the corresponding social network. However, we have no influence on the type and extent of the data processing by the operator of the social networks after the data transfer. For further details, please see the terms of use of the corresponding social network.

    Authorisations in Apps

AOK offers her insured a wide range of apps. The authorisations required for the operation of an app and/or the required access rights and terms of use are communicated in the corresponding app store.

    Newsletter Tracking

In order to receive current information from your AOK you can subscribe to newsletters. AOK uses the newsletter management system Xqueue Maileon to mail her newsletters. To improve the newsletter, e.g. for the technical optimisation of the mailing and displaying of the newsletter, or for statistical purposes, the system processes data in anonymised form. When a user opens the newsletter, the web beacon records the opening, and each click in the newsletter will be counted by means of a server-based forwarding. Processing in anonymised form means that this data is not personal or cannot be connected to any individual. Further use of the data or transmission of the data to third parties does not take place.

    Responsible for Contents and Information

The information offered by AOK contains cross-references (links) to other internet offers, e.g. those of our cooperation partners. When placing the links, the external (third-party) contents have been examined to determine whether they violate applicable standards in respect to civil or criminal law. However, there can be no assurance that the contents have not been altered by the corresponding providers afterwards. If you believe that linked external pages violate applicable law or otherwise contain inappropriate contents, please let us know. We will examine your notice and, if necessary, remove the link immediately. To this extent, AOK is not responsible for the contents and availability of the linked external websites.

Please not that this privacy policy only applies to the internet offers of AOK. Other privacy and data security provisions may apply to the linked external contents. In the legal notice of the linked website, you can find out who is responsible for the corresponding offer.

    Data Security and Encryption

Each time you are asked to enter personal data, your data will be protected by means of SSL encryption (TLS standard) when transmitted via the internet so that it cannot be read by unauthorised persons.
